Originally a 1,617 square foot 2-bedroom/1-bath cottage in Eureka Valley, we utilized every available square foot while emphasizing the magnificent city views the location afforded. Excavating down two floors and adding a steel-enforced moment frame provided the necessary structural support to give the home a wide open floor plan, allowing the feeling of grand openness on each of the 4 levels. Floor-to-ceiling windows on the back walls of each level emphasize the home’s strongest features: its light, openness and views.
The end product is a 4-story, 4473 square foot 5-bedroom/6-bath, with an entire floor for entertaining, 2 view decks, private guest studio with kitchen, wine storage room, two-car garage, rear yard stone paver patio, and turf covered garage roof deck. Finishes included custom steel and wood floating stairs, prime European oak floors, custom Shinnoki cabinets and vanities, dolomite marble countertops, Bonelli aluminum windows, gas fire place, 8′ doors through out, custom interior glass railings, custom exterior steel railing and cedar & stucco siding.
